GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

A bloodied man suffering from serious head injuries knocked on his neighbor's door and asked to use the restroom early Tuesday morning, according to police.

Officers responded to the 17700 block of East Burnside Street at 5:30 a.m.

Police said the man, identified as 55-year-old Jorge Salazar-Castillo, reported that he had fallen down some stairs.

Investigators said his injuries may not be consistent with falling down stairs, so detectives were called to the scene. Police are calling the situation suspicious.

Salazar-Catillo's injuries are believed to have happened between 3:15 a.m. and shortly before the 911 call at 5:30 a.m., likely in the surrounding area.

Salazar-Castillo was taken to the hospital, but his condition was not available Tuesday.

Anyone who witnessed an incident involving Salazar-Castillo or has information about what happened to him is asked to call the Gresham police tip line at 503-618-2719.
