Meet the Portland father-daughter duo behind adorable, viral Star Wars video

Posted: Updated:

Its music that any Star Wars fan would recognize: "Imperial March," sometimes referred to as "Darth Vader's Theme." While the music was written decades ago, you don't have to be that old to know it by heart.

You may have seen video captured by a Portland dad that shows his little girl singing that familiar theme song in her crib.

Jonathan Liu posted the video to his blog, He says his 2-year-old daughter Mika just recently watched the original Star Wars trilogy with her older siblings and fell in love – so much so that she would start singing the "Imperial March", but she would only do it on her terms. Finally, Liu caught her singing the famous track after she woke up from a nap.

"I shared the video with some friends of ours and they said you should share this on Geek Dad and so I did," he said. "I didn't expect it to go viral but it did and it's been kind of crazy."

The video has been getting a lot of attention on the Internet since Liu posted it last week, and the attention has been spreading.

"It's been really odd to see how it spreads and where it goes to. I did catch that the official Star Wars Twitter account tweeted a link to it so that was pretty exciting," said Liu.

The new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" comes out on Dec. 18.
