A 22-year-old registered sex offender claimed to be 16 years old as he sent sexually explicit photographs of himself to a 13-year-old girl he was trying to lure online, according to police.

Christopher Michael Scott was arrested Wednesday at his home on Southeast 92nd Avenue in Portland.

Investigators said Scott first contacted the victim using the website MeetMe.com in August.

He hid his true identity and claimed to be a teen boy named Jake Wolf, according to police.

Investigators said he asked the girl to send him sexually explicit photos in return for the ones he sent her and also tried to arrange an in-person meeting with the girl.

Gresham Police Department detectives said the girl's mother saw some of Scott's messages on one of the family's electronic devices and immediately talked to her daughter and then contacted police.

Scott was booked at the Multnomah County Jail on charges of second-degree online sexual corruption of a child, attempted use of a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct and luring a minor.

Detectives believe Scott may have engaged in similar conduct with other minors in the Portland metro area.

Anyone who believes Scott has had illegal contact with them or their child is asked to call the Gresham Police Department tip line at 503-618-2719.
