Puppy born with only two legs get new wheels

Posted: Updated:

He was born without front legs, but that's not going to stop one little terrier from being a puppy.

Tumbles isn't a normal 6-week-old pooch.

Born the runt of the litter and with just two legs, playing hasn't always been the easiest for Tumbles, who relies on his back legs to move around.

But with the help of technology, those days will soon be behind him.

Tumbles will now get a 3D printed two-wheeled cart built by the Ohio University Innovation Center.

“This is the first functional prosthetic we've done using this printer,” Joe Jollick, director of the 3D Printer Lab at the OUIC, explained. “The trickiest part is getting the dog to use it.”

Tumbles will undergo physical therapy to get used to his new wheels, before he can roll on into his new life.
