VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A wanted man speeding through a construction zone crashed into another car, slammed into an Arby's restaurant and was then hit with a Taser as he tried to run away from officers, according to police.

Investigators said the incident began around 2 p.m. Thursday on southbound Interstate 205. Washington State Patrol said the driver was going upward of 20 mph over the speed limit in a construction zone and refused to stop for a trooper.

The trooper also noticed the license plates on the suspect's car had been altered.

The suspect sped off the highway at the Mill Plain exit and the trooper ended the chase. However, police said the suspect continued speeding and driving erratically and hit another car, which sent the suspect's car into the side of a nearby Arby's.

The crash shattered windows at the restaurant and sent glass onto customers in the building. There were no reports of serious injuries, according to police.

The suspect attempted to run away, but was caught by officers and hit with a Taser when he refused to follow their commands, according to WSP.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jonathan Carroll, was taken to the hospital for minor injuries before being booked in jail. He is facing charges of felony eluding, driving while suspended, reckless driving, reckless endangerment.

Police described him as a career criminal who had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest.
