SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

If you're looking for something for the family to do on the day after Thanksgiving, consider heading to one of Oregon's state parks.

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department announced this week that it will suspend parking fees on Friday, Nov. 27 at all state parks that charge for parking.

Most state parks are free year-round, but 26 charge for day parking.

Those include popular parks such as Silver Falls, Smith Rock, Heceta Head Lighthouse in Florence and Fort Stevens near Astoria.

Daily parking at those parks costs $5 per vehicle most days of the year.
