Police: Teen girl escapes attempted abduction in NE Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Police are searching for a man who attempted to abduct a teenage girl in NE Portland on Friday.

Officers responded to the 5200 block of NE 92nd Ave. after a report came in around 4:36 p.m. that a teen girl was dragged into the bushes by a man.

Police said while officers were responding to the area, they received word that the girl was able to escape and run home.

The incident happened near the entrance of the Sumner Estates Mobile Home Park community. Officers are searching that area for the suspect.

The suspect is described as an African American in his 30s, 6', wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, and a baseball cap.

Police said the teen girl was not sexually assaulted but suffered minor scrapes during the struggle.
