Police find 24 pounds of meth during traffic stop

EUGENE, OR (KPTV) -

A Washington woman was arrested after Oregon State Police found 24 pounds of crystal methamphetamine inside her car.

Officials said an Oregon State Police Trooper stopped Teri Baker, 55, of Kent, Washington Friday night for driving 73-miles-per-hour in a posted 60 mile per hour zone on I- 5 in Eugene.

While making contact with Baker, the trooper observed signs of criminal activity, and with the help of a Springfield Police Department drug detection canine, a hidden compartment was found inside the car, according to police.

Police said inside the compartment was 24.4 pounds of crystal methamphetamine.

Baker was arrested and taken to the Lane County Jail on unlawful possession and delivery of methamphetamine.
