Police find stolen handgun during traffic stop

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A routine traffic stop resulted in the confiscation of a stolen handgun after police stopped a driver in southeast Portland early Monday morning.

Officers stopped a driver at southeast 82nd Avenue and Duke Street around 12:39 a.m.   

Police said one person exited the car and went inside a nearby Plaid Pantry store.

Officials said the officers went to investigate and found that the passenger had discarded a stolen handgun inside the store.

Henry Real, 28, was arrested on multiple charges including felon in possession of firearm and theft in the first degree.
