PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Around 100 small animals, including chinchillas and guinea pigs, that were rescued from a double-wide trailer and metal shed in Oregon City will be put up for adoption.

The animals were voluntarily turned over to the Oregon Humane Society by their owner, who is under investigation for possible animal neglect.

The Oregon Humane Society is hoping to place them all in homes as soon as possible. Beginning Friday, many of the rescued animals, including mice, gerbils, lovebirds and parakeets, will be offered for adoption at reduced prices.

Adoption fees for all birds and rodents will be reduced by 50 percent between Friday and Sunday.

Not all of the 210 rescued animals will be available this week. Many of the female pets are pregnant and are being fostered by volunteers.

Other pets removed from the Oregon City location including fantail pigeons, doves and tortoises have already been placed in homes or with rescue groups and are not available for adoption.

The adoptable animals include 21 lovebirds, 19 parakeets, three chinchillas, 20 mice, 26 hamsters and seven gerbils.
