Travelers going through Portland International Airport may have thought they were in Providence Park Wednesday morning when they spotted Timber Joey.
The Portland Timbers and Alaska Airlines teamed up to greet holiday travelers and celebrate the team’s advance to the second leg of the MLS Western Conference Championship.
Fans were given prizes for wearing Timbers gear at the ticket counter, and many were positive about the team’s chances in Dallas this Sunday.
Fliers still have a chance to win some free gear this weekend, as passengers heading to Dallas could win one of two free Timbers jerseys from the airline, as well as get other items like t-shirts and beanies.
Alaska is also offering priority boarding for anyone wearing a Timbers jersey, and anyone flying out of Portland Sunday wearing any Timbers gear will get a free drink on their flight.
