PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland police have apprehended a man after he allegedly threatened to shoot a person on NE Sandy Boulevard early Thursday morning.

Police responded to the call around 12:57 a.m. on the 8300 block of NE Sandy Blvd but arrived to find that the suspect, 26-year-old Terence Casey, had gotten into a car and left the area.

Officers said they were able to intercept Casey as he was leaving but he then got out of the car and fled on foot.

Police set up a perimeter and were able to take Casey into custody around 3:40 a.m., according to police reports.

Officials said this incident is not likely gang-related. They suspect it may be a case of domestic violence.

The case is still under investigation. Casey was arrested on charges of domestic violence and menacing.
