Police: Man hit by Portland Western train in Tualatin

TUALATIN, OR (KPTV) -

Police responded to the 18800 block of southwest Boones Ferry Road on a report that a person was hit by a Portland Western train Friday night, according to the Tualatin Police Department.

According to the report, the train was stopped and blocking southwest Tualatin Sherwood Road.

Police then discovered a male victim, 35, just west of the WES platform.

The man was conscious, alert, and breathing when police and medical personnel arrived.

He was transferred to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It is unknown what the man was doing on the tracks, and alcohol may have been a contributing factor in this incident according to police.

The tracks were cleared around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
