VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A drug dealer attacked a sleeping man with an ax handle and pepper spray after accusing the victim's daughter of being a "rat" who helped police arrest him, according to court documents.

Troy Meyers, 46, was arraigned in court Monday on charges of first-degree assault and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Deputies said Meyers was arrested Oct. 14 on multiple counts of intimidating a witness. He was then released on bail.

On Nov. 10, he was arrested again on outstanding warrants for attempted aggravated homicide. He appeared in court Nov. 13 and bail was set at $150,000, which he posted later in the day and was released.

On Nov. 18, police responded to the 6000 block of Northeast 105th Avenue on reports of an assault.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Antone Rydberg, 56, was at the home of an acquaintance when he began to feel tired and fell asleep. The affidavit states Rydberg regularly uses methamphetamine.

He woke up to Meyers attacking him with an ax handle, according to court documents. He was also sprayed with something "that made his face and eyes burn," the court documents state.

Rydberg then made his way out of the home and was found with "a significant head wound." Court documents state it took 11 metal staples to close a series of wounds on his head.

Rydberg told detectives that Meyers had accused his daughter of being a "rat," due to her association with two others in connection to a controlled buy of meth from Meyers, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The affidavit also states Rydberg told investigators that he had heard Meyers ordered a "hit" on him.

Meyers was arrested at his home on the 9800 block of Northeast 67h Street on Nov. 27. A probable cause affidavit states he was carrying more than $4,000 in cash and also had "a large quantity" of packaged meth and cocaine concealed in his underwear.

After his court appearance Monday, Meyers was ordered held without bail. He is due back in court Wednesday.

In May 2014, Meyers was arrested on drug charges. Court documents state a search warrant was served at his home and more than half a pound of meth was found in a safe and a hidden closet compartment.
