I find that holiday stress pops it’s ugly head when I’m unprepared. To help us keep our holiday spring in our step, here a few simple DIY gift ideas that you can make in advance to graciously give this holiday season!

Flavored Sugar

What you need

  • Sugar
  • Vanilla Bean (one bean per 1 cup)
  • Candy Canes
  • Decorative Jars

Vanilla Sugar

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut down the middle of the vanilla bean and with a spoon scoop out the vanilla beans.
  2. Add to two cups of sugar and mix well.
  3. Pour into jars, tie with a ribbon and give with love.

Peppermint Sugar

  1. Crunch Candy Canes until fine.
  2. Add to two cups of sugar and mix well.
  3. Pour into jars, tie with a ribbon and give with love.

Transferring photos to wood

What You Will Need

Paint

Step-by-Step

  1. Paint boarder of the wood frame.
  2. Apply ModgePodge Photo Transfer.
  3. Place picture face down on wood with photo transfer.
  4. Let set over night.
  5. With a very wet damp cloth, carefully wipe away paper. It may take a few times of allowing the paper to dry wetting and wiping. Don’t be alarmed if some of the picture wipes away. It will give it a weathered look.
  6. Once you’re finished removing all of the paper fibers away, apply the Modge Podge Photo Sealer.

Etched Glass

What You Need

  • Glassware
  • Etching Cream
  • Sticker Stencil

Step-by-Step

  1. Carefully and securely apply the stencil to the glass. Making sure that the letter is centered and straight.
  2. Evenly apply etching cream in and around the letter but not near the outside of the stencil.
  3. Allow the stencil to set for 20 minutes.
  4. Remove and wipe down stencil, so it can be reused.
  5. Wash glass surface with soap and water to remove all etching cream.

Spiced Nuts Recipe

Two Pounds of Nuts {I use Pecan Pieces}

  • 2 cup of sugar
  • 4 TBS Cinnamon
  • 1 TBS Sea Salt
  • 2 TBS Chili Powder

Add all of the ingredients to a large pan and cook on medium heat. Stirring constantly so not to burn. Once the sugar and spices have melted and coated the nuts, carefully transfer to parchment paper that’s been spritzed with oil. Allow the nuts to cool. Brake up the sweet and spicy candy nuts and gift with love!
