Undocumented firearms, unlawfully owned silencers and methamphetamine were seized from an Albany gun shop as part of an investigation involving the owner of the business, according to police.

A search warrant was served at GNA Supplies on Southwest 2nd Avenue on Monday.

Albany detectives were assisted by members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

A three-week investigation led to the arrest of the store owner, 32-year-old Jose Alfredo Morales.

Investigators said a firearm seized from a person prohibited from owning a gun was traced back to GNA Supplies and Morales. Police said Morales knowingly transferred the gun to the person and failed to perform a background check.

The investigation also revealed that Morales unlawfully manufactured and transferred a silencer to the same person, according to police.

Police said three additional silencers were seized by detectives at the shop, along with numerous undocumented guns and meth.

Morales was booked in the Linn County Jail on charges of manufacture, importation or sale of firearms, improperly transferring a firearm, unlawful possession of firearms silencer and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
