LANE COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A Junction City man is being treated for minor injuries after his semi-truck transporting cattle crashed on Highway 126 Tuesday afternoon.

Police arrived at the scene in Lane County near Walterville to find that the truck had rolled over onto its side.

The driver, 37-year-old Daniel Hansford, had been transporting 68 head of cattle from Madras to Junction City.

Police said numerous cattle were killed or injured in the crash. The owner of the cattle arrived at the scene and recovered the cattle still stuck inside the trailer and the cattle that had escaped to a nearby area.

Investigators said Hansford had been traveling too fast and had failed to make a turn.
