PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Paul Bunyan is getting in the Timbers spirit ahead of this weekend's MLS Cup game.

The 31-foot-tall statue of the famous logger in Portland's Kenton neighborhood donned a Timbers-themed Santa hat and scarf Wednesday.

Mike and Amy from radio station 99.5 The Wolf coordinated the effort to outfit the statue in Timbers gear ahead of the game this weekend.

The hat and scarf will remain on the statue through Sunday's MLS Cup game.

The statue at the intersection of North Denver and Interstate avenues was built in 1959 as part of the Oregon Centennial Exposition and Trade Fair, which took place in the area.

It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
