Police: Clatsop Community College employee arrested for arson

ASTORIA, OR (KPTV) -

Astoria Police Department arrested a woman for arson in the first degree after an investigation into suspicious fire damage at Clatsop Community College.

APD received a report on Nov. 30 by Clatsop Community College of suspicious fire damage on the floor area of the science lab.

After an investigation, police arrested Erin Engleson, 37, from Naselle, Washington.

Engleson is a part-time employee at Clatsop Community College.

Police said the amount of damage by the fire was minimal and estimated at $250.

Arson in the first degree is a class A felony with a statutory maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a $375,000 fine.
