ROCKAWAY BEACH, OR (KPTV) -

A man who was the subject of an hours-long search on the Oregon Coast Thursday morning has been taken into custody, Oregon State Police said.

OSP said several law enforcement agencies responded to the coastal town around 5 a.m. on reports of a shooting.

Authorities were looking for Nolan Seth Otey, 21, who may have committed some crimes in relation to crashing his own car. Details of the shooting weren't immediately available. OSP said there were no injuries.

Otey fled the scene after the crash, according to officials, and was last seen on foot, wearing a black jacket and dark jeans.

OSP said Otey was taken into custody Thursday morning. Further details weren't immediately available.

The Neah-Kah-Nie School District initially delayed the start of school by two hours because of the police activity but later decided to cancel classes altogether.
