MILWAUKIE, OR (KPTV) -

Police and SWAT served a search warrant at a Milwaukie home after a 43-year-old man was attacked by numerous people.

The warrant was served on the 11100 block of Southeast 30th Avenue at 7 a.m. Thursday.

The investigation began Nov. 30 when the man, who had been staying at the home, was assaulted by others who either live or are regularly at the house, according to the Milwaukie Police Department.

Police said the man was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. A motive for the attack was not released by police.

Due to the severity of the crime and the number of people potentially in the home, Clackamas County Interagency SWAT assisted Milwaukie police in serving the warrant.

Once inside, 19-year-old Gavin Scott Hotchkiss was arrested for a probation violation. According to the Clackamas County Jail website, he is also facing the charge of fourth-degree assault.

No other information on this investigation was immediately released by police.

Southeast 30th Avenue was shut down in both directions between Washington Street and Madison Street while police were at the scene Thursday.
