PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Over the span of a month, at least 24 cars were stolen from National Car Rental at the Portland International Airport.

According to a Port of Portland Police Department report, the cars were stolen from late October through the second week of November.

Police were notified Nov. 22 and began an investigation.

Law enforcement agencies in Washington, Clackamas, Multnomah and Lane counties have recovered around a dozen of the vehicles.

Three people were arrested in connection to the thefts on Nov. 25 in Portland.

One of the suspects, Christopher Dizer, 29, was arrested again five days later in the same car he had stolen from the airport rental agency, according to court documents.

A probable cause affidavit states Dizer was arrested in a black 2016 Lincoln on Nov. 25. The car was towed and held until National Rental Car could reclaim in.

The affidavit states Dizer admitted that he fraudulently obtained title paperwork for the car and reclaimed it from the towing company. A Speed's Towing spokesman said the car was released to Dizer because all the paperwork appeared to be correct.

The other suspects were identified in a Port of Portland police report as David McCoy, 30, and Melvin Tapec, 40, both transients.

The investigation is ongoing and police said they expect there to be additional charges and more arrests in connection to this case.
