ALBANY, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 34 at Goltra Road just east of I-5 near Albany Thursday afternoon.

Investigators said a 1995 Honda Civic was traveling south on Goltra Road and failed to stop at the intersection with Highway 34.

The Honda hit a 1994 GMC van that was on Highway 34, according to police.

Police said A 2005 Subaru wagon also struck the Honda.

The crash caused the Honda to split in half, and the driver, Janice Lee Dye, 38, of Albany, died at the scene.

Officials said the van rolled onto its side, and the seven people in the van and the driver of the Subaru were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.

Police are investigating distracted driving as a factor in the crash.

The roadway was closed for several hours after the crash, according to police.
