An Oregon City woman is accused of making her young daughter run up to doorsteps to steal packages from homes in Clackamas County.

Milwaukie police were contacted last week by a witness who reported a package had just been stolen from a home.

The witness managed to snap a photo of the suspect's vehicle and provided police with a suspect description.

On Dec. 3, Milwaukie police made contact with the suspect, identified as 49-year-old Mary Palmer-Correa, at her home in Oregon City.

Detectives said they found numerous stolen items at the home.

Investigators said Palmer-Correa would wait in the car as she was sending her 9-year-old to steal items delivered to homes in Milwaukie and the Clackamas County area.

Police have been able to return some of the stolen items, but they are asking for help locating the rightful owners of others. Some of the seized items include books, cups, pillows, a light set and a TV wall mount.

Palmer-Correa was booked in the Clackamas County Jail on the charge of second-degree theft.

Anyone who believes they have been a victim in this case is asked to contact Detective Cereghino with Milwaukie Police at 503-786-7476 and reference case #15-5338.

Police recommend people have packages dropped off at UPS, Fed-Ex or another delivery service where the items can be picked up in person, or have the packages shipped to your office, or a neighbor's or relative's home, who will be available when the delivery is made.
