Portland Timbers to host parade, rally in celebration of MLS Cup win

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

In celebration of their MLS Cup victory Sunday, the Portland Timbers will be hosting a parade through downtown Portland and a rally at Providence Park on Tuesday.

The parade is scheduled to begin at noon. The route will start at the intersection of Southwest Broadway and Southwest Stark, continue eight blocks down Broadway and will finish at Southwest Broadway and Southwest Madison. 

The rally at Providence Park is free and open to the public. It is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., with the gates opening at 5 p.m. It will feature remarks by Timbers players as well as team and city officials and a trophy presentation with Timber Joey cutting slabs of the victory log. 

FOX 12 will cover both events live on television and on kptv.com.
