VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

The driver involved in a crash that killed a wanted Washington woman has been identified as a person of interest in the Vancouver homicide investigation.

Vancouver police said Friday they are seeking information about 21-year-old Thomas Phillip Leae.

Police said California Highway Patrol attempted to stop a car driven by Leae with Ailiana Siufanua, 18, of Des Moines, Washington, as a passenger, on Interstate 5 in Yolo County on Dec. 1.

Leae was driving south in the northbound lanes before crashing into a tree, according to police. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and Siufanua was pronounced dead at the scene.

Siufanua was a suspect in the shooting death of 58-year-old Bentley Brookes at Pacific Bullion Precious Metals in Vancouver. His body was discovered in the store on Main Street on Nov. 25.

Detectives now say they have information that Leae was seen with Siufanua in the days surrounding the homicide. On Friday, detectives released a surveillance image of Leae.

The Vancouver Police Major Crimes Unit is asking for the public's help to determine where Leae was from Nov. 18 to Nov. 30. Leae and Siufanua were in a silver 1999 Honda Accord with Washington plates AND8486.

Anyone with information about Leae's whereabouts on those dates is asked to email Vancouver Detective Lawrence Zapata at lawrence.zapata@cityofvancouver.us.
