A paper delivery person noticed smoke coming from an airplane hangar in Newberg at around 5:30 Saturday morning, according to the Newberg Fire Department.

Firefighters said they were able to quickly respond to the fire located at 406 Airpark Way, and found one of the five hangars in flames when they arrived.

Officials said fire did not spread to adjacent units, and none of the hangars contained any airplanes. They were mainly used for storage.

Around 35 firefighters from the Newberg, Dundee, St. Paul, and Fire Departments fought the fire for about 40 minutes before the fire was contained, according to the release.

Fire crews said the Yamhill County Fire Investigation Team is currently working to find the cause of the fire and estimate the cost of damage.
