Two lanes of northbound Interstate 5 will remain open north of Woodland, but one lane will be closed indefinitely due to the landslide on December 9, according to Washington State Department of Transportation.

WSDOT continued to monitor the stability of the slope, and determined that there needed to be more analysis before all lanes can be reopened.

There is no risk of additional debris falling into the open lanes because of concrete barriers separating the two lanes and hillside.

WSDOT will install monitoring devices this weekend to track potential slope movement.

"By keeping a single lane closed, traffic will continue to move safely while we develop our next steps for stabilizing the hillside," said WSDOT Southwest Regional Administrator Kris Strickler. "We appreciate the hard work of the crews clearing the debris from the slide and appreciate the patience from the traveling public."
