Cascade snowfall amounts already higher than last year

Posted: Updated:

It was a busy weekend for snow lovers in the Cascades and more snow is on the way.

Last week’s storms brought large amounts of fresh snow to many local ski areas, and some are reporting that their snow pack already beats last season.

Mt. Hood Meadows said they have gotten 17 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours. That brings their base up to 50 inches, much higher than last season’s highest base level of 41 inches.

Mt. Hood Skibowl said they currently have 21 inches of snow, with six new inches since Sunday morning.

Timberline also has some new snow, 14 inches, bringing their base up to 57 inches.

Mt. Bachelor leads the pack with currently 64 inches of snow at its base.
