HOOD RIVER COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

The Fish and Wildlife division of the Oregon State Police is looking for the public’s aid in finding more on who is responsible for the illegal killing of Coot Ducks near Government Cove in Cascade Locks.

Officers said 15-20 dead ducks were found floating by a Hood River Sheriff’s Office deputy on the morning of November 12, 2015.

Analysis from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife lab showed the animals were killed by small caliber weapons, such as a .17 caliber rifle or a pellet gun.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to call Sr. Trooper Thaddeus Routson at 541-296-9646, or submit a tip to the Turn in Poachers hotline at 1-800-452-7888.
