Portland police arrested a suspect linked to several armed robberies that took place Monday night in southeast and southwest Portland.

Police said they received several reports of a person armed with a shotgun.

The suspect, Patrick Gazeley-Romney, 26, was arrested on four counts of robbery in the first degree.

The investigation began Monday evening just before 9:30 p.m. after officers responded to Chico’s on west Burnside after a report of shots fired into the store.

When officers arrived, they found evidence that a shotgun had been fired into the business.

Nobody was injured according to police.

Officials said while officers were investigating that incident, a resident near southwest Visa Avenue and Market Street Drive reported a burglar armed with a shotgun.

Multiple officers, including the Police Canine Units responded to the area and to search for the suspect, but were not able to find him.

At around 9:15 p.m. Beaverton Police also responded to an armed robbery at the 8200 block of southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway.

Police said the suspect took cash and the victim's wallet after they got money from the ATM.

Central Precinct officers then responded to a traffic crash at around 10:28 p.m. on the 6300 block of Capital Highway.

Police learned that one of the drivers involved in the crash was speeding away from a man armed with a shotgun trying to rob her.

Later that evening at 10:35 p.m., police said the Swan Mart at 440 southwest Barbur Boulevard was robbed by a man with a shotgun.

The final robbery happened just before 11:00 p.m. at the Milwaukie Market on southeast Milwaukie Boulevard.

Officers were in the area of the final robbery. A Canine Unit officer who had viewed surveillance video of the suspect saw a man matching the description and took him into custody.

Officers searching the neighborhood found the car used during the crime spree. In the car, officers found other evidence including a shotgun.

Gazeley-Romney is now in Multnomah County Jail.

Gazeley-Romney may face additional charges in Multnomah County and Washington County after the cases are reviewed by Grand Juries.
