TILLAMOOK COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

One person is behind bars after he allegedly sent a letter to a courthouse in Tillamook that contained an unknown substance Monday afternoon.

Employees at the Circuit Court said they opened the letter and the contents spilled out on a desk and floor.

Officials said they immediately sealed off the room and evacuated the courthouse.

The Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue Hazmat Team as well as the National Guard Hazmat Team were called to the scene.

Officials said the substance was tested on site and results indicated that it was not dangerous.

Evidence inside the letter lead police to Timothy Theodore Sequire, 66, of Rockaway Beach.

Sequire was arrested on counts of disorderly conduct and menacing.

The courthouse was open again by 4 p.m.

The unknown substance has been taken to Salem for further testing.
