#TheGraciousGirlsGuide brings three holiday apps sure to please

Today on #TheGraciousGirlsGuide to the Holidays, we are whipping up three super easy #NaughtyorNiceRecipe appetizers, perfect to make and take to your next holiday event! And while they are Naughty because they are decadent, they are also Nice due to so many great health benefits.

Let’s get started!

Our first appetizer is one of my favorites. I’ve been making it with my mom since elementary school. It first started as a New Year’s appetizer and, over time, has become a favorite for any season. Are you ready for it?

Bacon-Wrapped, Stuffed Medjool Dates

What you Need

10 Medjool dates (pits removed)
1 cup pecan pieces|
½ pound thick-cut bacon {cut in half}
100% maple syrup


  • It all starts with a Natural Delights Medjool date.
  • Cut the Medjool date lengthwise, remove the pit.
  • Stuff with pecan pieces.
  • Now for the naughty decadence, wrap it in bacon and fasten with a toothpick. I like to get my bacon from the butcher and cut it in half with sharp kitchen shears.
  • For a little extra naughty, I drizzle with 100% real maple syrup.

Bake for 20 minutes, and out pops a treat that’s sweet, salty, chewy, and packed with a little pop of crunch. Almost like candy, but without any added sugar.

Blue Cheese, Hazelnut & Medjool Date Flatbread

These are great because they are just as tasty served hot or cold. I always have to have the recipe handy, as guests go crazy for it!

What you Need

Olive oil
1 cup chopped hazelnuts
4 Medjool dates, chopped
½ sweet onion, caramelized
Gorgonzola cheese 


  • First, roll out the crescent dough or place flatbread on a baking sheet.
  • Brush the dough/bread with olive oil.
  • Spread out the Medjool dates and hazelnuts evenly—you want a bit of everything in each bite—and pat them into the dough. This is that the entire recipe can be prepped in advance and for multiple events. Medjool dates are great because you can chop them ahead of time and store them for up to two months in an airtight container.
  • Evenly distribute the caramelized onions.
  • Crumble Gorgonzola over the top and sprinkle with rosemary leaves.
  • Finally, drizzle with olive oil.
  • Pop them into oven and bake at 355 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Trust me, your guests are going to die for these.

Finally, the easiest of them all…

Pear, Medjool Date & Brie Holiday Skewers

What you Need

2 pears, cut into 10 pieces
10 Medjool dates (easy to slice from the freezer), sliced into rounds
1 Brie slice, cut into 10 cubes|
10 rosemary stems


  • Take a rosemary sprig and carefully remove the leaves/needles, leaving two inches at the top.
  • Skewer on a slice of pears, Medjool date rounds and a cube of brie. 

These are not only nice because they are beautiful and easy, but they are also rich in protein from the cheese and contain 16 essential vitamins and minerals… thanks to our little friend the Medjool date.
