PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Oregon Historical Society will be hosting the first public viewing of the Portland Timbers’ MLS Cup trophy.

The Oregon Historical Society is located at 1200 SW Park Avenue.

They will be open Saturday, Dec 19 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec 20, from 12 p.m.-5 p.m.

The event is a chance to take view and take a picture with a piece of Oregon sports history.

Admission will be free to all, but the Timbers do suggest that attendees make a donation to their non-profit partner, Special Olympics Oregon.

Representatives from the organization will be there to accept donations and provide information about their programs.

The Timbers will also host a merchandise table at the event, which includes championship branded items.

"There is no better place for the Timbers to share their historic achievement with the countless members of the Timbers Army than at the Oregon Historical Society," said Kerry Tymchuk, Executive Director of the Oregon Historical Society. "Over the past two years, we have showcased the Stanley Cup, the Lombardi Trophy, & Marcus Mariota's Heisman, and we can't wait to play host to the Portland Timbers and celebrate their exciting victory."
