OREGON CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A woman already arrested on DUII charges twice this year was taken into custody again after police said she was involved in a hit-and-run crash while huffing compressed air.

Police responded to reports of a silver Dodge Durango that hit a car in front of a store at 65th and Nyberg Road in Tualatin on Tuesday morning.

The person in the car that was hit got out and attempted to stop the suspect driver, but the suspect drove around the victim and continued down the road, according to deputies.

A witness followed the suspect deeper into Clackamas County along rural roads and called 911 to report the suspect driving erratically and seemingly having trouble maintaining consciousness.

A West Linn police officer located the suspect as she was driving onto Interstate 205 at Stafford Road. After an attempted stop and short pursuit, the officer forced the suspect off the road and blocked the Durango.

Shanon Marie Harlan, 37, of Oregon City, was taken into custody. Investigators said she was then taken to the hospital after it was learned she had been huffing Office Depot-brand compressed air, which contains difluoroethane.

Deputies said this is Harlan's third arrest for DUII this year and her second involving inhalants. She was scheduled to be arraigned in court Friday in Clackamas County for one of those prior DUII arrests.
