SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Salem police are investigating a shooting incident that left a woman injured.

Salem Hospital staff contacted police Thursday evening to report that a woman with a gunshot wound had been dropped off at the emergency department. The woman, whose injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, was dropped off at about 6:30 p.m. by an unknown man who left without providing any more information.

The investigation led police to two residences in northeast Salem: one was in the 3200 block of Beacon Street NE, the other in the 3400 block of Hawthorne Avenue NE. SWAT officers served search warrants at both locations Friday. The bomb squad also assisted in serving the warrants, using robots to help check the residence on Beacon Street for potential suspects.

Police worked with the Salem Keizer School District to have students at three Salem schools to be picked up by parents or guardians Friday to prevent students from getting too close to the areas where the search warrants were being served.

Detectives are interviewing several people who were contacted when the search warrants were served.
