One person hit by vehicle on Sunnyside Road in Clackamas

CLACKAMAS, OR (KPTV) -

Deputies say one person was struck by a vehicle on Sunnyside Road in Clackamas Friday evening. 

The collision occurred in the 9000 block of Sunnyside Road, near the entrance to the Clackamas Town Center, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived on scene and saw a pedestrian on the ground, who was later taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Witness statements indicate the pedestrian ran across Sunnyside Road against a red light. The driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian was headed west on Sunnyside Road and had a green light.

The driver remained on scene and has been cooperating with the investigation, according to deputies. 

Two of the three westbound lanes of Sunnyside Road are closed while deputies investigate the crash. The road is expected to fully reopen by 10:30 p.m.
