Woman hosts boy from China to help him find a forever home

Posted: Updated:

A woman is making it her mission this Christmas to help a little boy from China find a forever home.

Amanda Giese is hosting J for a few weeks, and getting him the medical attention he needs, and hopefully getting the word out that he would be a special addition to a northwest family.

You likely will never catch 5-year-old J without a smile on his face.

This Christmas, he’s got a hand to hold, toys to play with, a warm house to run around in, but none of that is permanent, because J is an orphan.

J has a long list of medical issues. He was born without a nose, and is blind.

This Christmas, his wish list is quite short.

"He came from China to hopefully get some medical information for his rare condition and find a forever family." said Giese.

J has never smelled the pine scent of a Christmas Tree, never seen a pile of presents on Christmas morning.

Amanda met J for the first time this week.

"There is a family out there for him. He's not a child who was born to be raised in an institute and be aged out at 14. That's not why he's here. He's here because he needs a family, like all children need a family," said Giese.

It won’t be a traditional Christmas for J, but certainly one he will never forget.

J will stay with Amanda until January 15. During his time here, he has several medical appointments scheduled.

There is a GoFundMe set up to help pay for medical expenses, they are about half way to meeting their goal as of Saturday.

You can find a link to the GoFundMe here, along with information on the Great Wall China Adoption.
