Toys from the Fox 12 Toy Drive delivered to kids in need

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Christmas is now less than a week away, and all of the toys from the Fox 12 Toy Drive are being handed out to kids in need.

Forty families got presents delivered right to their doors Sunday.

‘Sparks of Hope’ is just one of more than 130 groups distributing toys collected from the Fox 12 Toy Drive this year.

Founder Lee Ann Mead helped surprise kids with the presents, which is something she loves to do.

"I think it's pretty fantastic when we surprise them but to also see the joy on their face,” said Mead.

‘Sparks of Hope’ works with abused and at-risk youth.

According to their website, they hold camps year-round for kids aged 8-17 to help them “break their silence and take back their childhood.”

Both the kids and parents say this opportunity is a blessing.

Mead says she loves to be able to spread ‘Christmas hope’ to kids who have nothing.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the donations from Fox 12 viewers.
