BAKER CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A Happy Valley man faces multiple charges after running away from officers and injuring a police trooper.

The pursuit began after an Oregon State Police Trooper found a 2008 Saab that was reported to be driving recklessly on I-84 at milepost 302 near Baker City.

Troopers clocked the car’s speed at over 100 miles per hour, so they attempted to stop the vehicle.

The driver, Anthony Yattaw, 26, of Happy Valley, finally stopped at the 302 off-ramp, but took off again toward Baker City, injuring a trooper.

Baker City Troopers attempted to catch up with Yattaw after, but lost sight of the vehicle.

According to police, the Saab then crashed into a 2011 Dodge pickup and a 2013 Ford pickup at the intersection of Hughes Lane and Highway 30.

Officials said the Dodge pickup was driven by Becky Harrell, 55, and the Ford pickup was driven by Nathan Hull, 48.

Harrell suffered minor injuries, and Hull was uninjured during the crash, according to police.

Yattaw then fled on foot onto 10th Street and into the Oregon Trail Livestock parking lot where he was taken into custody without incident

Yattaw was charged with attempt to elude in vehicle, attempt to elude on foot, reckless driving, reckless endangering, DUII, assault II, attempted assault II, and assault on a public safety officer.
