PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man was taken to the hospital after a motorhome fire in southeast Portland.

The fire started just after 1:30 Saturday morning near southeast 88th and Clatsop Street.

Fire crews said the man who lived in the motorhome was recovering from open heart surgery, and they had responded to his home twice on Friday.

When crews arrived they found a man outside, and the motorhome was engulfed in flames.

While crews worked to put out the fire, several oxygen tanks inside the motorhome exploded.

The 70-year-old man was taken to a local hospital for smoke issues.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
