NEAR TILLAMOOK, OR (KPTV) -

A teenager is safe after he was pulled from the Pacific Ocean near Tillamook.

Helicopter crews from the Coast Guard Air Station in Astoria responded to a call Saturday afternoon near Cape Lookout State Park.

An 18-year-old man was near a tide pool with friends, when a wave swept him from shore.

The teen was able to get to some rocks, but was unable to get to shore because of a leg injury.

Crews used jet skis to move the teen from the rocks so he could be lifted into the helicopter.

The teen was taken to a parking lot at the park where paramedics tended to him.

The helicopter crew was in the area for training and diverted to help in the rescue.

The Coast Guard wants to remind people to keep an eye on the sea, as tide and wave conditions can change quickly.
