Woman arrested, accused of stabbing boyfriend during fight

GLENEDEN BEACH, OR (KPTV) -

A woman along the Oregon coast has been arrested after deputies say she stabbed her boyfriend.

Lincoln County Deputies were called to the Seagrove residential community just south of Gleneden Beach Saturday evening.

Deputies say they found a 34-year-old man who initially reported an unknown person stabbed in twice in the upper back in Gleneden Beach while he was walking alone.

The victim said the person ran away after the stabbing.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of stab wounds, but is expected to recover.

After more investigation deputies discovered the stabbing was domestic violence related and happened at the man’s home.

After talking to witnesses, deputies re-interviewed the victim and learned he had got in a fight with his girlfriend.

Deputies say during the argument, 32-year-old Melissa Anne Greenawault, got a kitchen knife, and stabbed the man twice in the back.

Greenawault was arrested and taken to the Lincoln County Jail and was charged with assault and unlawful use of a weapon charges.

The man has since been released from the hospital.
