CASCADE LOCKS, OR (KPTV) -

A pair of suspects were caught carrying meth in Cascade Locks in a truck stolen out of Gresham filled with items taken during two burglaries, according to deputies.

Deputies responded to reports of a suspicious truck parked on Wanapa Street on Friday. They checked the license plates and learned the 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup was reported stolen out of Gresham a week earlier.

Deputies performed a high-risk traffic stop and took two suspects into custody. They were identified as 25-year-old Caleb Mayne Maxwell of Portland and 20-year-old Fanesha Leaprea Montgomery of Vancouver.

Further investigation led to the discovery of stolen property in the truck. Investigators said the items were taken during burglaries reported six days prior in the Hood River and Cascade Locks areas.

Maxwell and Montgomery were booked at the Northern Oregon Regional Corrections Facility on charges including burglary, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of burglary tools and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

The Hood River County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Oregon State Police.
