PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

As the year wraps up, the Better Business Bureau has released a list of the top scams hitting Oregon consumers.

Tyler Andrew, the President and CEO of the BBB of Alaska, Oregon and Western Washington, noted that the group’s Scam Tracker system has collected reports from more than 10,000 people in the U.S. this year in an attempt to stop fraud.

"Scammers are elusive," Andrew said in a release. "With Scam Tracker, consumers and law enforcement can track fraud in real time and report it so that no one else falls victim."

According to the BBB, the top 5 types of scams residents of Oregon need to watch for are:

  1. IRS Scams
  2. Imposter Scams
  3. Fake Debt Collections
  4. Phony Tech Support
  5. Bogus Sweepstakes

The BBB said IRS Scams, where callers will pose as a federal agent and claim to need personal data for tax reasons, was also the top fraud seem across the country.
