PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man who was facing criminal charges in connection to a fight that killed another man at Portland International Raceway has died.

The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office confirmed Wednesday the death of 50-year-old Michael Taylor of Battle Ground.

The case against him was set to be officially dismissed in court Thursday.

Taylor was arrested in July and indicted by a grand jury in August on charges of second-degree manslaughter and second-degree assault.

Officers responded to Portland International Raceway the night of July 9 on reports of a fight involving family members of two motocross competitors.

Investigators said 61-year-old Anthony Mancuso suffered serious injuries in the incident and later died at the hospital.

His death was ruled a homicide caused by blunt force head trauma.

Taylor had pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
