PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Legacy Health has surpassed its goal of collecting 10,000 pairs of new socks to help those in need through out the Portland-Vancouver area.

The final tally of the Legacy Health employee sock drive was 30,613 pairs of new socks.

The socks will go to thousands of homeless or struggling individuals in the metro area.

Some of the socks will stay at Legacy Health to serve patients who are homeless or in need of socks. The rest will be divided among 10 charitable community partners who work with the homeless.

The organizations are Central City Concern, Friendly House, Share of Vancouver, Sandy Action Center, New Avenues for Youth, No One Left Behind, Outside In, Project Homeless Connect, the Tigard/Tualatin School District Caring Closet, and Transition Projects.
