SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

The city of Salem has been working to create more drivable streets after Sunday’s winter weather.

Winter weather conditions have left two residential streets shut down at this hour.

According to officials, the Department of Public Works has been concentrating on side streets.

South Salem and west Salem areas have had the greatest buildup of ice and sleet since 8 a.m., the city said.

Conditions will begin to improve as more sand goes down on the roads.

Six to seven standing trucks will also be available to help clear the area.

It is has begun to warm up, but the ice on the ground is expected to freeze overnight.

Marion County Courts will be opening at 10 a.m. Monday because of the weather.
