Crews respond to 2-alarm commercial fire in Clackamas

CLACKAMAS, OR (KPTV) -

Fire crews rushed to the scene of a 2-alarm fire at a commercial building in Clackamas Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported after 6 a.m. at Conveyco on Minuteman Way.

Clackamas County emergency dispatchers said the fire was in a solvent tank at the business.

Officials said the fire was most likely caused by a complication with a metal heating system.

Crews said the solvent unexpectedly reacted with a conveyor belt chain and it burst into flames  

Officials said there were about 13 employees in the building at the time of the fire but all were able to get out of the building in time. 

There were no reports of injuries.

Crews said there was significant amount of wood and wood pallets inside the building at the time of the fire.  

Firefighters said the building collapsed partially. 

Conveyco specializes in manufacturing equipment.
