GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

It was 6 a.m. Monday and like most people in his Gresham neighborhood, vape shop owner Mike Lamoureux was closed for business because of the ice storm.

But the weather didn’t seem to stop two people from breaking into his store, Str8 Vaping, on Northeast Division.

Gresham Police responded after the suspects broke in through a side window.

On surveillance video, two people wearing masks are seen rummaging through cupboards and drawers behind the counter. In less than two minutes, Lamoureux said they turned the place upside down.

“They tore through the cupboards, trashed all down here and took the cash register. They knocked over the 3-D printer – broke that," he said.

Trina Fornoff owns Nonnie’s Bakery right next door and said the business owners in their small complex are like a family. She doesn’t believe this area is a target for random crime, so she thinks the thieves had been in the vape shop a few times.

“I’m not a detective, but I think it was probably a customer,” said Fornoff. “Someone who’d been in the shop before and knew what they were looking for.”

Lamoureux agrees with Fornoff and now he’s watching every customer with a skeptical eye. He’s personally offering a $600 reward for information that leads to an arrest. He doesn’t plan on letting this go.

“We’ve worked really hard and we started out with barely anything and I’m really grateful for all our supporters. It just sucks to watch two guys come in and take it,” he said.

Lamoureux thinks the whole ordeal could cost him upward of $12,000.
